Hey BeanBagers!!!

We are back in action this Friday night from 4:30pm here at the Cairns Baptist Church 142 Lake st Cairns.

This year we will be starting from 4:30pm every week in order to get some of our younger kidlets home a bit earlier. We will be running from 4:30 - 6:30 every Friday night during the term unless it is a public holiday

long weekend.

To make sure that we are covering costs this year BeanBag will be $3 per child unless there are more than three of you in the same family then it will be $10 per family.

Fruit will still be served during the program and the doors will open from 4:20 for registrations and after 6:40 the doors shut and we will sell any left over children on ebay (not sure if i can actually do that yet...).

In order to make registrations faster please download the new registration form and fill it out before you come on Friday however we will have some here just in case your dog eats the one that you did at home.

Mini-Church

Mini Church is a programme for 2 - 4 year olds (up to school age) during the Sunday morning service. The programme is designed to be a simple but effective means of exposing children to the Biblical storyline, incorporating singing, prayer, a Bible story and a related activity. It is led each Sunday by parents and other enthusiastic people within the Church.

(Each adult involved holds a blue card or is otherwise legally permitted to work with children).

Children must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian each Sunday.
Children under the age of 2 are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the whole programme.
We look forward to seeing you and your children!

Religious Education

Cairns Baptist Church supports the R.E. (Religious Education) programmes in our State Schools.

Several people from our Church teach R.E. and two are area coordinators.

R.E. is the only opportunity for many children to hear of God's love for them and the way of salvation. So it is important that there are sufficient teachers to cover the many classes in the Cairns area.

To be able to teach R.E. each teacher must hold a current Blue card and have a letter of authority from their Church Minister. The material that is used is what is recommended by the Cairns Christian Minister's Network and each teacher must be prepared to attend training seminars when they are held.

R.E. is held every day of the working week at various Schools in our area.

Kookaburra Kids

Kookaburra Kids is designed to be a friendly group for parents to gather with their children.  We have free play, regular craft activities and outings for the children, singing and music time, morning tea, support and discussion for Mums.

We meet at 9:30am at the church grounds in Lake Street every Wednesday and Friday during the school term.

It is not a requirement that you attend the church or become a church member to attend. The group is intended to include any parents and children from birth to preschool age.

The Church grounds have a small outdoor playground which we love to make use of. In the extremely hot weather, we tend to gather inside the church hall and take advantage of the air conditioning and indoor play and craft.

For more information on Kookaburra Kids, call the church office for contact details, or send a message to the office via the ‘Contact us’ page.

Sunday school

Sunday school starts approx. 15mins into Sunday mornings worship service.

The worship leader will let you know when its time to go.

Pastor Jireh and his mate Kipper live in the church hall where they have many wonderful games, activities, Bible stories and songs to share with everyone who comes in the door.
