Street Level Youth Care

Street Level Youth Care

Street Level Youth Care is an outreach program to the homeless and disadvantaged youth of the city of Cairns.  They serve meals to young people up to age 21. These youngsters walk around the streets of a night time as they often have no home to go to.  All meals are donated and the ministry is run completely on the back of volunteers.

Harald's House

Harald's HouseThe founder of Street Level Youth Care, Dr Harald Falge OAM, an elder here at CBC, is now being supported by the local community to establish an accommodation home for young people where they can experience the love of a true family environment, find their feet and hopefully make amends with parents and family so they may once again return home. This will be a home where young people will be required to return to study, work or do vocational training that will equip them to take care of themselves once they leave the facility.

Youth from grades 8-12 connect through their own youth group called Pulse on Friday nights during the school term.

Starting from 6pm ending at 9pm.

Pulse meets off site at the Cairns State High School where the weekly event happens.  Sharing in a meal, and then joining in a time of “ENGAGE” where the emphasis is on discussing current issues and other biblical principles that apply to life and circumstances that young people will experience.
After this time the night continues with other activities like ball games, dinners, movie nights, combined events, hangouts and the like, before sharing in some supper.
